Log Cabins

Log cabins sometimes known as log homes or modular homes raise the question, how do they compare with traditional brick built homes?

From my point of view as a time served and qualified bricklayer I'd have have no hesitation or doubts about recommending or living in a timber construction that are so attractive.

They've proved their worth and can produce some beautiful homes able to accept the severest of weather without failing in any way.

Kits are available just about everywhere and delivered ready for erection with full instructions, although a craftsman or trained specialist should normally be sought for this type of construction.

Homes built in this way are becoming more and more popular world wide because of their structure and stability even in adverse conditions.

Having close friends in Southern Germany who've purchased and erected a modular home direct from Scandanavia, I'm impressed with the results of a home able to withstand extreme conditions yet still be stylish, warm and comfortable.

If you're considering a log cabin for home or leisure use try one of the many shows displaying some fine examples of a worthy competitor to traditional brick homes.
